About:
Jennifer (Jenny) Baker-Hornick is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP) working with children as young as 4, adolescents, individuals, families, and couples residing in the state of Missouri and Florida. Jenny is focused on advocating for children involved in parental court proceedings. She has been identified as an expert witness in multiple counties in the state of Missouri. She has advanced training in Therapeutic Supervised Visitations, and offers these visits at Touchstone on the Square. Jenny is a qualified Parenting Coordinator for high conflict families needing assistance implementing their parenting plan. Jenny recently became certified in Positive Discipline. This is an authoritative parenting program designed to help parents learn how to communicate more effectively with their children, while encouraging the development of problem-solving skills.
Education:
Jenny started as the billing coordinator at Touchstone Counseling when she was nineteen years old. Her role grew as she accepted the position of Director of Operations overseeing three counseling related companies: Touchstone Counseling LLC, Touchstone Helping Families; and Baker Consulting Services LLC. Jenny was a graduate of Ozark Public Schools in 2002. Her undergraduate degree was in psychology with a minor in criminal justice from Missouri State University. In 2009, she was a member of the first cohort to graduate with a master’s degree in criminology. Jenny’s desire to serve others compelled her to pursue a future in counseling and in 2019 she graduated with her master’s degree in counseling from Missouri State University.
Current Specialties/Interests:
Jenny currently specializes in working with couples who are struggling in their relationships. Her main focus is to teach effective communication skills; develop a deeper relationship connection; and to teach fair fighting skills and conflict resolution. One specific area of emphasis for Jenny is her work with infidelity. She specializes in affair recovery. In addition to working on relationship repair, Jenny focuses on the healing of depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and the need for perfectionism and control. Jenny’s primary focus will always be on her family. She and her husband have been married since 2008 and have three amazing children. With her children attending school in the Ozark School District, she remains in tune with issues that are current, trending, and negatively impacting our children and their families. Subjects such as bullying, peer pressure, social media use/abuse, and ADD/ADHD are ever at the forefront of her research.
